Journal Policy Updates
The University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing Services has been working with editors to review and update journals’ policies. As a result, we developed a set of recommendations with more precise and consistent language across all journals’ policies. This revision will also aid in compiling and standardizing policy information for external indexes and databases, including Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Sherpa Romeo.
Our revised policy language clarifies journals’ CC license and copyright policies. We have also updated the submission checklist language to ensure that it helps authors identify if the article meets the necessary criteria for submission. Finally, we have added self-archiving and open-access policies that clarify to authors and readers how these procedures work.
The team at the University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing Services strives to make publishing accessible for everyone. As such, we hope that these changes will further improve our commitment to publishing high-quality open-access research.
